
Placement Tests
There are many ways to determine course placement. If you have any of the following items, you can submit them to the ACC Testing Center for review. Once the review is complete, you will be notified of the results.
* Please include your student ID number when submitting scores and transcripts to ensure an accurate and efficient review.
Prior Test Scores
- ACT/SAT scores from within the past five years
- College placement scores from within the past five years
- Accuplacer scores from another college or university
- AP, IB, CLEP, DSST, UXCEL scores from within the past 5 years
High School Transcripts
High school transcripts are reviewed using GPA and prior coursework
College / University Transcripts
College transcripts from a regionally accredited college or university are reviewed for prior college coursework completed with a C or better. Please submit these to Records and Enrollment Services for evaluation.
High School Equivalency Test Scores
- GED test scores
- HiSET test scores
- TASC test scores
If you are not submitting any test scores or transcripts for review, we offer the Accuplacer for course placement.
What to expect
- Assesses skills in English and math
- Scores are valid for 5 years
- There is no time limit but typically takes up to 90 minutes to complete
Retesting
- May only be taken 1 time on any given day
- There is a limit of 3 attempts on any section of the test (English/Writing, QAS math and AAF math) in a 1-year period. After the third attempt, students will need to wait 1 year to test again.
- The Calculus math assessment may only be taken 1 time per semester

- Cost
- On-campus testing: $10 for ACC students
- Meazure Learning / Proctor U: $10 for ACC students paid to ACC plus a proctoring fee of $28-$36 paid directly to Meazure Learning/Proctor U (see Meazure Learning / Proctor U for more information)
