Learning doesn't just happen in the classroom. At ACC, there are many ways students can enhance their academic experience. From Apprenticeships to the Writers Studio, engage in meaningful conversations and experiences, while learning from professors, peers, and our communities.

Apprenticeships

ACC’s Apprenticeship programs combine customized related technical instruction with structured on-the-job training. By combining your education and paid experience with our employer partners, you'll be able to launch your career even faster.

Diversity and Global Learning 

Develop cultural knowledge and awareness with a Diversity and Global Learning (DGL) Achievement Certificate. Each course in the program will help you develop critical and reflective skills so you can live and work in the diverse world around you. 

First Year Experience

Get started off on the right track at ACC through the First Year Experience program. All new students are required to participate in FYE @ ACC, which covers everything from Student Orientation to academic planning and career assessment. FYE @ ACC is fun, informative, and incredibly helpful!

Great Books

ACC is one of just six community colleges in the United States to be part of the University of Chicago’s Great Books Consortium. Engage in conversations about masterpieces of literature, history, and philosophy—and go on to earn a Great Books Achievement Certificate. This highly sought-after certificate can help you gain entry into your future top-choice college or university.

HIVE MakerSpace

The HIVE MakerSpace at ACC is a space designed to spark innovation, foster collaboration, and support fabrication. Bring your creativity to life with our state-of-the-art facilities and tools. Come together with staff, students, and instructors from diverse fields to explore art, design, architecture, advanced manufacturing, electronics, engineering, mathematics, rapid prototyping, robotics, rocketry, woodworking, and much more

Pinnacle

The Arapahoe Pinnacle is ACC’s exclusively online news publication. It is the only student-produced news publication in the Colorado Community College System. If you’re interested in writing, reporting news, or telling stories, get published and build your portfolio by getting involved with the Pinnacle.

Progenitor Art & Literary Journal

Help produce the Progenitor, ACC’s award-winning art and literary journal, or submit your prose, art, and photography to be featured right alongside other students, writers, and artists from around the world.

Service Learning

Enhance your academic experiences while improving your self-awareness through Service Learning at ACC. You’ll go beyond serving those in need to gain real-world experience by engaging with community organizations.

Study Abroad

You can travel to another part of the world - and earn ACC credit - through our Study Abroad program. By living in places like Japan and Italy for 1 to 3 weeks over the summer, you’ll enhance your academic experience at ACC while you broaden your knowledge of people and the places they live.

Undergraduate Research Experiences

If you are planning to transfer to a 4-year school, this is a great way to get research experience and stand out on your college applications.

Experience the writing life and advance your own writing through classes, workshops, literary contests, festivals, author readings, and open mics.
