Colorado Health Careers Collaborative

The CHCC was co-created by Arapahoe Community College (ACC) and the Community College of Denver (CCD) in partnership with over 14 Denver metro area school districts, several community-based organizations, and 6 of Colorado’s largest healthcare employers.

Colorado Health Careers Academy

The Colorado Health Careers Academy (CHCA) is an intensive 3-week program offered during the summer at the ACC, Littleton and CCD, Lowry campuses. The Academy is presented in a hybrid format offering a combination of self-paced on-line learning, Monday - Thursday, and in-person Friday sessions. Programming features include:

• Career Exploration
  Participants will learn about a variety of fields within healthcare through online webinars, virtual job shadow experiences, presentations, and career panels. Participants are encouraged to reflect on their personal interests and strengths to find careers that suit them best.
• Workshops and trainings
  Students participate in hands-on medical labs, attend professional development workshops, and earn a certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Professional Development
  Beyond career exploration, the academy helps students develop essential skills in resume writing, interviewing techniques, and career planning.
• Post-secondary assistance and guidance
  Students are supported in their post-secondary goals whether that be placement into entry-level positions with one of our healthcare partners, or pursuing a certification, 2-year, or 4-year academic program.

The current registration window is closed. Please check back in January 2025 to access registration for the Summer 2025 program.

Scholarships Available

Scholarship Application opens January 1, 2025. 
Priority Deadline: January 31, 2025

Students who submit their application by January 31, 2025 are given priority consideration. Scholarship applications will be accepted and awarded on a rolling basis after the priority deadline.
