How We Got Here - The Process

In April 2024, we kicked off the process with facilitation, early drafting, and gathering information through compilation, analysis, and summaries. The work grew into meaningful engagement with our community and industry partners through focus groups and visioning sessions, as well as strategy and planning sessions with divisions across the college. We also dug into internal and external documents to help shape the conversation.

Along the way, we hosted Town Halls, Achieving the Dream (ATD) sessions, facilities master planning discussions, and department-level input sessions. In total, more than 60 hours of meetings, workshops, and listening sessions were held. We heard from 1,000 students through surveys, engaged 3 student focus groups, identified over 500 key drivers, completed dozens of forecast activities, and gathered valuable insights through faculty and staff surveys.

By fall 2024, our associate vice presidents pulled everything together—compiling, analyzing, and summarizing the work. In spring 2025, the college reviewed and provided more input and ideas. Then, in summer 2025, Cabinet built on that collective effort by brainstorming college-wide goals and proposing the metrics that will help guide our path forward through 2030.

ACC Equity Statement

We welcome and value the identities and experiences of our students, staff, faculty, and surrounding communities. We seek to engage and support historically marginalized groups whom higher education has traditionally failed to serve. We work to foster an equitable and inclusive learning and work environment that supports our students and employees through professional development, programming, reflection, and transformational change of ACC practices, procedures, services, and teaching. We collectively commit to holding ourselves accountable to our equity goals through assessing these efforts with multiple strategies that include voices of those impacted by this work.
