Work Study
ACC's work study program offers students employment and a flexible way to earn money for college expenses. We have work study jobs in a number of different departments where you can work on campus or remotely. Working part-time at ACC will complement your degree program, provide on the job training, and add valuable skills to your resume. There are requirements for the work study program. If you find that you do not qualify, we have student hourly employment too. Find those part-time jobs for students on Purple Briefcase.
A work study award is only offered for one academic year, recipients are selected on a first-come, first-served basis; and awards are based on available financial aid funding.
The hourly wage for work study starts at $14.00 per hour. Students who have worked in a department for 2 consecutive semesters will earn $14.50 per hour.
*Student employees are not eligible for medical insurance benefits through ACC / CCCS. Student employees are enrolled and contribute to a TIAA-CREF account when enrolled in less than six credits.
Sick leave is granted in accordance with SB20-205, Sick Leave for Employees, accrued at one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for a work study award, you must meet and maintain the following minimum eligibility requirements:
- Complete an online FAFSA application
- Be eligible for Title IV Federal Student Aid
- Have a demonstrated need, which is determined by your FAFSA results
- Estimated Family Contributions (EFCs) calculated by the FAFSA to be higher than 13,000 will be handled on a case-by-case basis; review the Student Aid Report (SAR) emailed to you from fafsa.gov and contact the Financial Aid Office for additional information.
- Have a demonstrated need, which is determined by your FAFSA results
- Be enrolled as a degree-seeking student
- Be enrolled in at least half-time (6 credit hours), and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress for all credit hours

Job Description:
As the front-line staff representative and the first point of contact for the department, the Academic Advising Front Desk Representative will be tasked to assist with the daily operations of the department. Tasks will include but are certainly not limited to greeting students upon arrival, answering emails and phone calls as well as connecting students to resources. A friendly, supportive, and professional demeanor and a positive attitude are a must. This position involves constant interaction with ACC students, employees, faculty and visitors to the campus.
Essential Functions:

Elevate at ACC Peer Mentor

Job Description:
The Elevate at ACC peer mentor will serve as a natural support for students enrolled in Elevate. Elevate at ACC is an inclusive post-secondary education program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Elevate peer mentor will provide general guidance to Elevate students, based on the mentor’s experiences as a college student. The mentor will work with the students both one-on-one and in group settings while assisting them with academic support and the development of soft skills including organizational skills, study strategies, time management, and communication techniques. Looking for a responsible, self-motivated, and customer service-oriented individual who has an interest in technology. Tasks will include answering help desk phone and creating tickets, helping resolve help desk tickets for customers, assisting with day-to-day troubleshooting of technology in classrooms and customer issues, assisting with the installation of new equipment and software, receiving and inventorying technology, and basic office support.

Library Assistant

Job Description:
Friendly and welcoming Customer Service is the primary focus of this position. Library Assistants are responsible for handling patron activities including greeting patrons, check-in / check-out of books and reserved materials, shelving returned materials, and answering basic questions on the phone and in person. Library Assistants reserve study rooms using an online system.
Library Assistants will need to able to help patrons with technical issues on PCs, Macs, iPads, Kindles, printers, scanners and copiers. The library has a 3D printing service that Library Assistants are involved with. It is expected that the Library Assistants will help to maintain a clean and inviting atmosphere in the library.
It is not necessary to have prior experience working at a library, but you must be comfortable with helping students and staff. This is a public facing position, not behind the scenes. Training is provided.

The Academic Advising Office is seeking applicants for the position of Peer Advisor (PA). PA’s are integral to the academic advising experience as they provide ground level understanding of the college and what the student experience is like here at Arapahoe Community College. Job Description:
Student Coordinators help to further the mission of the Student Life Office, which is to foster development, leadership, and engagement of our students through activities, services and experiences. This position is responsible for supporting professional staff in aspects related to the management of campus events, event promotion and recruitment, and office coverage. Through such work, Student Coordinators will promote involvement across our campus, provide impactful student experiences, and help to foster an engaged campus culture. Job Description:
The ACC Sturm Collaboration Campus is seeking an individual who is customer-service driven and adept at multi-tasking to serve as a front desk representative to assist with the daily operations of the Sturm Campus. A friendly, supportive, and professional demeanor and a positive attitude are a must. This position involves constant interaction with ACC students, employees, faculty, community members, local employers, school district employees, and visitors to the campus.
Essential Functions:
75% | Perform administrative tasks, including answering the phones, responding to emails, assisting students with applications and registration, assisting faculty with classroom needs, troubleshooting technology issues, copying course materials, and housekeeping chores to maintain the cleanliness of the building and classrooms |
15% | Assist with special projects, as assigned by the Campus Director and full-time staff |
10% | Set up and tear down of event rooms before and after events held at the Sturm Campus |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; skilled at multi-tasking
- Familiarity with ACC student processes, including the admission process, COF, placement testing/pre-requisites, registering for classes, withdrawal deadlines, the ACC student portal, and general student rights and responsibilities
- Ability to use a variety of office equipment, including phones, scanner, copier, and shredder
- Organizing, filing, and record keeping skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Desire to be a leader and a role-model, including on-campus, on-line and in the community

TRIO Student Support Services Peer Mentor

Job Description:
Peer Mentors will serve as a support for TRIO SSS students by assisting them with understanding the college experience and navigating campus resources. This position is responsible for providing guidance based on students’ experiences and assisting them with general advising questions. Peer Mentors will work both one-on-one and in group settings to help students adapt to campus, balance the college workload, develop soft skills and provide them with a welcoming and inclusive environment. This will be done by hosting workshops and programming alongside TRIO Student Support Services staff. A supportive, friendly, and inclusive attitude is highly suggested as this position involves constant interaction with ACC students.
Applicants must be a current degree-seeking student at an institution of higher education in the state of Colorado. Applicants must also have successfully completed 18 college-level credits with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be work-study eligible.

TRIO SSS will provide training on all necessary software and processes that will be used.
