ACC President Dr. Diana Doyle recognized by NASPA IV-West

Arapahoe Community College President Diana Doyle, Ph.D., has been selected as the recipient of the 2018 NASPA IV-West Presidential Excellence Award.

Dr. Doyle, who has served as the President of ACC since April 2010, will be honored at the NASPA IV-West Regional Conference on October 23-25, 2018, in Wichita, Kansas. NASPA is the national professional association for student affairs administrators in higher education.

A 2016 recipient of the prestigious Phi Theta Kappa Shirley B. Gordon Presidential Award of Distinction, Dr. Doyle also earned acclaim as the State Student Advisory Council (SSAC) President of the Year by the Colorado Community College System (CCCS) in the spring of 2014.

Prior to her appointment at ACC, Dr. Doyle served as the Executive Vice President of Learning and Student Affairs at the Community College of Denver. With more than 40 years of progressive professional experience in higher education administration, she has also served in leadership roles at Western Nebraska Community College, Colorado School of Mines, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Illinois State University.

Elected as President of NASPA in 2008-09, Dr. Doyle also received the NASPA Foundation Pillar of the Profession award for outstanding contributions to college student success in 2010. Under her leadership at ACC, the College has prioritized its focus on student success by establishing programs that include a Veterans Services Center, a President’s Student Advisory Council, and Guided Pathways for Student Retention & Completion. In addition, ACC has created an integrated concept Child Development Center for Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree in Emergency Services Administration, and has begun construction on a new Collaboration Campus in Castle Rock to provide students with seamless pathways from high school to associate degree to bachelor’s degree through on-site alliances with K-12, university, employer, and civic agency partners.

Dr. Doyle holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Illinois State University and earned her PhD in Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver.
