Explains the basic skills, principles, and techniques for the staining, culturing, isolation, and identification of microorganisms of medical importance. Student will interpret clinical specimens to provide data correlation including diagnostics and treatment. Techniques for determining antibiotic sensitivity will be demonstrated. Public health, safety and quality control will also be emphasized. Note: This course was previously listed as MLT 231.
