Familiarizes students with the publishing industry and helps them get published. Students target audiences, prepare manuscripts for publication and contests, and submit their writing. They write a cover letter, a query letter, a personal biography, and a book proposal. They design and assess a book or a collection, perform a competitive title analysis, and prepare a marketing plan. The course covers submission guidelines, copyright, authors' rights, and trends in the industry. Note: This course was previously listed as ENG 264.
