Welcome to Summer at ACC, Pumas
Hello Pumas! Welcome to your summer semester at ACC! I am sharing information to help you have successful summer courses at ACC. This applies to all summer students, both continuing and visiting students.
Please continue to monitor the ACC website and your ACC student email for the latest updates. I am including some important things to know in this email – please do not hesitate to reach out with questions!
Student Services
Need help? Student Services offices will be open from 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday; Tuesday from 8:00am - 7:00pm and Friday services are remote, in June and July, from 8:00am - 5:00pm (the Welcome Desk is open for in-person services from 9:00am - 3:00pm on Fridays).
Parking
Parking Passes are required in all ACC lots. If you purchased a Spring or Annual parking pass it is good through August 15. If you are only here for the summer, you will need to purchase our fall pass (valid through 12/31/26) which can be done through your myACC account. Buy through your myACC account (Login to myACC) or Cashnet online.
Parking Pass Pick-up Options:
- Pay at campus: Pick up at the table across from the Welcome Center Desk (2nd floor, Littleton Campus).
- Pay through myACC: Pick up at Campus Police (Littleton Main Building) or Sturm Collaboration Campus front desk (bring your receipt).
- Pay through Cashnet: Pass can be picked up or mailed.
Important:
Park in ACC lots (parking and building maps can be found here). Street parking may result in City of Littleton tickets; check the signage if you park on the streets.
How do I check how my courses will be offered?
- Course Schedule: Go to myACC and sign in. In myACC, go to Students Tab (across top), then to My Schedule “card”, check your course schedule. The course title will link to Desire2Learn (D2L) which has information specific to your course.
- NOTE: D2L courses become available on the first day of class. Before the start date, you won't see the link for D2L. Please use Detailed Scheduled under the Registration Tools in myACC to confirm your schedule and plan to log in to D2L on the start date for each of your classes.
- Navigate App: You may download the Navigate App and check your schedule via Navigate on your mobile device. Download links and learn how to use Navigate.
- Start Date: Note the DATE the course starts. Some courses are accelerated and may not start until later in the semester. Check the date and know when your course starts!
- Location and Codes: Check out this helpful information on Class Schedule Listing and how to make sense of the abbreviations and codes on the course schedule. Double-check the Campus – which ACC location will your class meet? Sturm Castle Rock, Legacy, Littleton, or Art & Design?
- Online Classes: All online courses will have ‘ONLINE’ listed in the course location. Courses that are ONLINE are offered by CO Online @.
- We recommend that you take a screenshot of your class schedule before coming to campus on your first day of classes. That will help you to find it quickly when you need to, such as to look up your classroom.
Add / Drop Classes
- Dropping a class. You may drop a class without it appearing on your transcript and have tuition refunded IF you do it by the drop deadline. The drop deadline is based on WHEN the class starts. How do you know what the drop deadline is? You can see (and note it in your planner) the drop and withdraw date for ALL your courses by going to myACC, Registration Tools (SSB) card, select Detailed Student Schedule (with Drop/Withdrawal Dates) and it will give you specific dates for each of your courses. Pay attention – forgetting or not knowing the date is not a valid excuse. Missing the deadline will have financial consequences.
- Census. You may hear or see the word course census (higher education speak). The census date is the last date to add or drop a course. You may not ADD a course after the census date (ADD/DROP date) has passed. Census is the state of Colorado’s language and really just means ADD/DROP deadline.
- Detailed information on Academic Policies & Procedures including Registration (Add, Drop & Withdrawal) can be found in the ACC Catalog or on the Records and Enrollment Services webpage. If you receive financial aid, be sure you understand the impact of dropping, adding or withdrawing from courses. You can stop by the Financial Aid office on Littleton Main, second floor or email them at financialaid [at] arapahoe [dot] edu. We know life happens but be sure to talk to your instructors first before you make a decision. Instructors often can help you assess if you can still pass a course and what your best options are.
Books and Supplies
You can locate what books/materials you need for your class by entering information in the search bar at the bookstore website or by creating an account and logging in at the bookstore website. This webpage has helpful instructions on ways to shop for course books. Some courses use Open Educational Resources for a class (OER = Free!). You can find more information on finding OER materials on the bookstore website, under the course materials & textbooks tab.
HAVE A GREAT SUMMER SEMESTER! Congratulations on taking this step to complete your degree, better your career and achieve your goals! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
