Arapahoe Community College (ACC) has earned the Colorado Department of Higher Education's (CDHE) First Generation-Serving Institution designation.

CDHE First Generation-Serving Campus designation recognizes colleges and universities that enroll, and support, a higher-than-average number of first generation students (defined as students whose parents did not complete a bachelor’s degree).

Established through House Bill 24-1082, the designation honors institutions whose first generation resident undergraduate enrollment meets or exceeds the statewide average of 37% over three consecutive years, as well as institutions participating in the FirstGen Forward Network, a national network of colleges and universities committed to advancing the success of first-generation college students through intentional, institution-wide strategies.

ACC was also awarded First Generation Serving Campus Designation on behalf of the CDHE in November 2024, as well as Network Champion from FirstGen Forward in March 2025.

ACC drives new and creative approaches to education, with a focus on building forward-looking pathways to social and economic mobility. By deepening connections with employers, industry, and our community, we ensure that all learners are equipped with the skills and opportunity to thrive.
