You’ve seen them around campus, but just in case you haven’t met them, we'd like to introduce two of our ACC Campus Police officers - Raul Araujo and Kevin Heylin. Both were promoted to the rank of Corporal (Police Officer II) on November 3, 2023.
Meet Corporal Raul Araujo
Raul, who was appointed to the ACC Campus Police department in 2011, attended the ACC Law Enforcement Academy. He has been working in law enforcement for a total of 15 years and received a Certification of Appreciation Award in Campus Safety.
Raul enjoys providing a safe environment for the ACC community and he encourages students and employees to keep their head on a swivel and report anything suspicious to ACC Campus Police. His hobbies include off-road ATV adventures, astronomy, boating, electronics, car modifications, building, firearms, construction and training.
Received the ACC Campus Police “Lifesaving Award” in 2019

Earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration (University of Phoenix)
Meet Corporal Kevin Heylin
Kevin, who joined the ACC Campus Police department in 2008, is a graduate of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy. He has been working in law enforcement for a total of 17 years and enjoys participating in community outreach activities at ACC.
Kevin, who relishes the unpredictable nature of the job, advises everyone to pay attention to their surroundings and always keep their belongings with them. He enjoys watching movies and spending time with family.
