We are coming together on March 27 at 1pm in the Student Lounge (2nd floor - Main Building - Littleton Campus) to honor the legacy of César Chávez and Dolores Huerta. Along with the commemoration, we have included 4 panelists to speak to students and staff about their career and life’s journey as social rights advocates. 

Light refreshments and snacks will be available.

Meet Our Panelists

  • Ally Garcia received her Doctor of Education degree from the University of Denver. She currently serves as the State Director for the Office of Adult Education Initiatives. 

  • Andrea Loya is a proud daughter of immigrants and an immigrant herself. She was born in Mexico City and her family immigrated to the United States when she was 3 years old. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Casa de Paz.

  • Rep. David Ortiz is a pioneering figure in Colorado politics, serving as the Democratic representative for the state's 38th House District.

  • Leah Porter, an inspiring first-generation college graduate, embodies resilience, determination, and an unwavering commitment to education. She currently serves as the Program Manager at the College Renaissance Corps.
