Provides an introduction to the sociology of religion, including a comparative and critical examination of world religions, by focusing on sociological interpretation and explanation of the role of religion in human culture. The interaction between society and religion is thus examined as are a wide variety of religious beliefs and practices. Note: This course was previously listed as SOC 220.
