Introduces the student to sources of law; the legal status of the dead human body; the duty of burial, right to control funeral arrangements and final disposition and liability for expenses; torts involving the dead human body and the funeral director; wills, estates and probate proceedings; cemeteries and issues related thereto; state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to funeral service such as ADA, OSHA, FTC, and EPA; and the legal aspects of being a licensed funeral director/embalmer. This course will also include ethics as related to principles in funeral service. Note: This course was previously listed as MOR 220.
