Computer Aided Drafting - Interior Design, Certificate - Academic Plan

The Computer Aided Drafting Certificate prepares students for advanced levels of Computer Aided Design (CAD) within industry, utilizing the latest hardware and software releases. The certificate may be completed within one year. This certificate prepares students to perform 2D and 3D design within CAD and other CAD-related software.

Program Outcomes

Graduates of the CAD–Interior Design Certificate will be able to:

  • Produce accurate and professional two- and three-dimensional drawings using industry-standard computer-aided design and modeling software and following established drafting conventions and standards.
  • Apply knowledge of architectural and interior systems to generate design documentation that meets professional and construction requirements.
  • Integrate construction details, materials, and specifications into complete, organized drawing sets for residential and commercial projects.
  • Demonstrate job readiness through efficient workflow management, digital file organization, and adherence to production timelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with architecture and design professionals through clear technical communication, problem-solving, and attention to precision.
  • Create compelling design visualizations and presentations to communicate concepts and support real-world design collaboration.

  • ACC's CAD Program suggests using a Windows computer for all drafting software. Prior to beginning the CAD Certificate Program, students should be able to easily navigate through a computer's file manager, navigate new software, and use the internet.
