When watching home improvement TV shows, are you convinced you could do a better job? Do you have great ideas about what makes a beautiful kitchen or bath (the most remodeled rooms in homes)? Then this program is for you! Get started today in a booming career that you will love with a Residential Kitchen and Bath Design Specialist Certificate.
Why Choose Residential Kitchen and Bath Design?
Enter the Kitchen and Bath profession after just three semesters with our Residential Kitchen and Bath Design Specialist Certificate. This 29-credit certificate teaches the fundamentals of kitchen and bath design and will prepare you for the Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer (AKBD) exam. Upon graduation, you’ll have the foundation and experience you need to take the Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD) and Certified Bath Designer (CBD) exams.
You'll work with basic and advanced drafting tools, such as AutoCAD and learn how to draft floor plans and interior elevations. During the program, you’ll become familiar with trade resources and requirements for the NKBA.
During your time at ACC, you’ll work on portfolio pieces that will help you land that dream job or secure clients, and begin making contacts during your certificate-required internship.
What Can You Do with a Residential Kitchen and Bath Design Certificate?
Kitchen and Bath Designers work in a variety of settings, such as: showrooms, design firms, or as self-employed consultants.
You could also go on to get your associate degree. All of the courses you take for the certificate are transferrable to our associate degree in Interior Design, which is the first in Colorado to be endorsed by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA).
