Do you love to take pictures of the people, places, or things around you? Turn your love of photography into a career! At ACC, we offer two different photography programs: Commercial Photography (A.A.S.) and Studio Art (A.A.).
What is the Difference between Commercial Photography and Studio Art Photography?
The Commercial Photography Program (PHO) is designed for those who want a career using photography to help sell, advertise or market a product, service, person or persons. In this program, you will focus on developing skills in the areas of studio and location lighting, digital photography, asset management, post-production techniques, and marketing and business practices. With an A.A.S. degree in Commercial Photography, you can begin your career after you graduate from ACC.
The Studio Art Photography program (ART) is geared towards those who want to be fine artists, using photography as their primary medium. You will focus on art and photography history, conceptual thinking, and understanding how your work fits within historical and current practices. You will also explore digital, traditional, alternative photographic processes and mixed media. Once you graduate with your A.A. degree in Studio Art, you will be able to transfer to a four-year college and continue your education or start your career.
