Volunteers pulled invasive weeds, clipped shrubs, and planted then watered native foliage, during Denver Audubon’s Fall Community Clean Up, which started off chilly at 9am but ended up hot and dry by the noon hour.

Volunteers learned about local flora and fauna at this one-day volunteer event in Chatfield State Park, just 5 miles from ACC’s Littleton Campus.

The event was open to everyone ages 5 and up, so even families joined in the outdoor fun.

After 3 hours of pulling, kneeling, digging, picking, shoveling, lifting, and watering (and learning!), volunteers filled 13 bags, and the trails at the Denver Audubon Kingery Nature Center were restored to be more welcoming for the greater community of people, animals, and plants!
