The Arapahoe Community College (ACC) Secure Software Development (SSD) program has received a significant donation of security testing software from Parasoft, a global leader in automated software testing for over 30 years.

The Parasoft Jtest solution, which will be licensed as a 12-month (2022 calendar year) subscription at a heavily discounted educational rate, will benefit students enrolled in ACC's SSD courses and will benefit those enrolled in Introduction to Secure Coding in the future. The in-kind gift is valued at over $80,000.

“We truly appreciate this generosity from Parasoft,” said Doug Lundin, ACC SSD Faculty. “The Jtest software will be a tremendous asset to our students as they hone their skills in identifying insecure software code. Jtest will help our students develop software that is SEI CERT compliant in multiple industries including automotive, medical devices, civil aviation, rail, industrial automation, and military and defense.”

“Parasoft is committed to investing in the education of students who will be future leaders in delivering innovative software applications,” stated Igor Kirilenko, CPO of Parasoft. “We hope to encourage ACC students on their path to applying their SEI CERT compliance learnings in the real world to make an important difference in software quality.”

ACC’s Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in SSD combines skills in security/cyber, computer programming, software assurance, and database development fundamentals. A degree in Secure Software can pave the way for a range of rewarding and in-demand careers, including Computer Systems Analyst, Software Quality Assurance Engineer/Tester, Computer Programmer, Software Developer, and Information Security Analyst. Upon completion of the associate degree, ACC provides a seamless pathway to transfer into CSU Pueblo (at the ACC Sturm Collaboration Campus at Castle Rock) to earn a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems (emphasis in Software Development).
