The Arapahoe Community College Astronomy Program will host a "star party" on Friday, Oct. 16, from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. at the Littleton Campus (West Lawn; between the Main Building and Lot G).

ACC will also host star parties on Oct. 22 (Parker Campus) and Nov. 20 (Littleton Campus).

Astronomy Star PartyStar parties will be held in an open house format, and attendees are welcome to arrive at their convenience.  ACC will provide a telescope at the star parties, which are free and open to the public (no RSVP necessary; please dress appropriately for these outdoor events).  Complimentary hot cocoa and cookies will be served.

Join ACC Astronomy Professor Jennifer Jones for your chance to observe the night sky and explore the vastness of the universe.

Arapahoe Community College will host its Fall 2015 College Transfer Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room (M1900).  This event is free and open to the public.

LIST OF ATTENDING SCHOOLS - COMING SOON

Meet with transfer/admissions advisors from local and national four-year schools to gather information about transfer options.  Pizza and prizes will be available, and attendees will have the opportunity to meet with ACC alumni who transferred successfully.

This is ColoradoThe 'This is Colorado' Juried Exhibition opens today.  The exhibit runs through Nov. 13.  The festivities will include an opening reception with light refreshments on Friday, Oct. 23, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

The juror for this exhibit is ACC Adjunct Painting Instructor Marsha Wooley.  Admission is free and the exhibit is open to the public.  Hours of operation:

MONDAY - FRIDAY:  Noon - 5:00 p.m. (open Tuesdays until 7:00 p.m.)
SATURDAY / SUNDAY:  closed

Student Life is sponsoring an evening at The Sherpa House on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 6:00 p.m.

The Sherpa House serves authentic Himalayan cuisine while providing guests with a first-hand look at traditional Sherpa culture.

Cost is $10 per person, and transportation is not provided.

The Rocky Horror Picture ShowStudent Life will host a showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 6:00 p.m. in the Half Moon.

Originally released in 1975, this musical comedy horror film is a timeless classic.  Let’s do the time warp again!  Popcorn and interactive props will be provided.  This event is free and open to the public.

Halloween costume contestJoin us for our annual Halloween costume contest on Thursday, Oct. 29, in the Second Floor Student Lounge.  Contest check-in is at 11:00 a.m., and the judging will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Prizes will be awarded in a variety of categories and themes.  Get creative and enjoy Halloween crafts and goodies.

Student Life will welcome Denver Ghost Hunters to Arapahoe Community College on Thursday, Oct. 29, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Half Moon.  This event is free and open to the public.

Denver Ghost Hunters is one of the foremost groups in the paranormal field, travelling across the country with other ghost-hunting groups to investigate a variety of destinations including haunted houses, businesses and historic landmarks.
