College Goal SundayThe Arapahoe Community College Littleton and Parker campuses will host College Goal Sunday on Feb. 21 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Attendees will receive free professional guidance on ways to pay for college, specifically how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is a crucial step in the college planning process.  The FAFSA must be completed for a student to receive any type of financial aid, including grants, work study, student loans and even many scholarships.  Students are encouraged to submit their FAFSA at their earliest convenience to receive as much financial aid as possible.

College Goal Sunday will take place at 20 other locations across Colorado.  Spanish translation will be available, and more than $20,000 in scholarships will be handed out on Feb. 21.

The ACC Student Life Office will host Black History Live: Meet Rosa Parks on Tuesday, Feb. 23, beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the Library & Learning Commons.

Learn how one woman ignited the Civil Rights Movement.  National humanities scholar Becky Stone will perform as Rosa Parks.

Student Life will facilitate FREE self defense training on Tuesday, March 1, beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the Half Moon.

Familiarize yourself with a full range of self-defense techniques, including: awareness, assault deterrence and setting verbal boundaries.  Physical skills are practiced (full contact and full force with the “attacker”).  Learn how to overcome the freeze response and how to strategize and assess options while in an adrenaline-heightened state.
