Biography

Dr. Stephanie J. Fujii is a passionate, outcomes-oriented, community college leader with over 30 years higher education experience in student services, instruction, and workforce/career and technical education. Prior to moving to administration, she was tenured faculty, division chair, and faculty senate president. Past administrative experience include service as a system/district level director leading and facilitating instructional support services and programs between ten college, a college instructional/CTE dean, and vice president of academic affairs.

Stephanie possesses significant experience in strategic planning, outcomes assessment, accreditation, and faculty development. Her expertise in instruction resides in having spent nearly 20 years in the classroom teaching and supporting diverse populations, new-to-college, transfer, and graduate students. In her desire to improve outcomes for students, she works to develop and facilitate relationships between college units internally and externally, building partnerships focused on a shared interested of increased access and student success.

She has presented nationally on the topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion (student and faculty), student retention/persistence, student success, college counseling, and student development. She authored a column for the national newsletter of the American College Counseling Association (ACCA) and was recognized for meritorious service for her advocacy of community college counseling. Stephanie serves as President-Elect National Asian/Pacific Islander Council (NIAPIC), an affiliated council of the American Association for Community Colleges (AACC) and was recently appointed AACC’s Commission on Diversity, Inclusion and Equity.
