ACC Staff Spotlight: Erin Geideman

It's time for another ACC Staff Spotlight. Meet Erin Geideman, ACC's Marketing Project Manager.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Erin Geideman. I was a first generation college student, and have a BFA in Art Photography with a minor in Art History from Syracuse University. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio I moved to Denver for work in 2021 while pursing a career working in art museums. After really struggling with a job that wasn't for me, difficulty making friends, and missing the lush greenery and water of the Ohio river valley, 3.5 years later Colorado finally feels like home. I'm a big lover of anything related to fine art and crafts. Recently, I got back into taking ceramic wheel-throwing, and love working on anything creative. I also enjoy all types of gaming, reading, gardening, cooking, and baking.
What is your job at ACC?
Marketing Project Manager
What do you do at ACC (explain your role)?
I work with faculty and staff to facilitate the creation of printed marketing materials to promote the college. Some of my biggest projects include the commencement program, admissions viewbook, materials for the fall and spring concert series, brochures and flyers for student services and academic programs, and much more. Many people tend to think I'm a graphic designer, but I like to squash that misconception by saying, I manage graphic designers, not that I design materials. But I do assist with gathering and refining copy, sourcing images, and creating QR codes for our graphic designers to use on materials.
In addition to working with print materials, I also draft and schedule posts on ACC's social media platforms, function as Marketing's primary swag wrangler, and assisting with commencement preparations.
How long have you been at ACC?
2+ years
Are you a part of any clubs / organizations / committees at ACC or outside of ACC? What are they and why did you choose them?
At ACC, I am a member of the LGBTQ+ Employee Affinity Group, the Community Garden, and recently joined the ADA and Section 504 Committee which discusses topics of physical accessibility for the college. I had been on an accessibility committee in a previous job, so I'm very excited to bring my existing knowledge and passion for this work to ACC so I can advocate for people with disabilities to make our college more welcoming.
Outside of work, I am a member of the Denver Queer Library Club. We meet up a couple times a month at a library to play games and skill share with one another. I'm also still technically a member of the American Alliance of Museums, the best perk being I get into a lot of museums for free!
Why did you choose ACC?
Before working at ACC, I worked at art museums for 8 years. When I was transitioning out of that field, I wanted to find a place where I could still be creative and have a passion for knowledge and learning. Though I'm not working with images of Van Gogh's on marketing materials in this role, I still get to express my creativity by finding ways to make ACC's programs shine. I love how welcoming ACC and am so glad I was able to step into this role.
What has been your biggest accomplishment so far?
This year, I participated in the ACC Leadership Academy to learn how to be a better leader, no matter what my job title entails. During this seminar, we were tasked with creating a project proposal for an initiative to better the college. My project is to spearhead a redesign of the admissions viewbook. I worked with mentors John Hall, Graphic Design Faculty, and Jen Sheldon, Senior Communications Specialist in Admissions, and had the pleasure of running a pseudo focus group with John's Studio ACC students. With their feedback in mind, I've worked to streamline our viewbook copy to make it more digestible for prospective students. Though my project is still in progress, I'm excited to meet with the admissions team to finalize this piece and get it off to our graphic designer for layout. We're hoping to finalize this piece over the summer and I cannot wait to see the results!
What is your mountain (ultimate goal)?
I really enjoy my work as a Marketing / Graphic Design Project Manager, so I don't necessarily aspire to climb the ladder into managerial roles. However, one day, I think I would like to work at an art college to blend my new found love of higher education and my passion for the arts. My alma mater, Syracuse University, essentially had an art school within their large university, so even working at a place like that really appeals to me. Or who knows, maybe you'll find me project managing exhibitions at a university art gallery one day.
What's your favorite ACC memory so far?
By far my favorite ACC memory is competing in the Be The Difference Committee's annual staff trivia contest. My first time attending was in 2024 as a free agent, and our team, March Gladness Not Sadness, pulled off the win amongst fierce competition. For 2025, I drafted a team of some of ACC's smartest, but sadly our team, Ghosts of Winners Past (Returned), lost to HR by one measly point!!! We will forever be haunted by guessing "Mustard" instead of "Ketchup" for a questions related to condiments being marketed as having medicinal properties, and getting slayed in the very difficult comics/anime category. 2026 will be our come back year, so watch out!
Tell us a fun fact about you / Something people may be surprised to find out about you.
As an avid cat lady, I love that my cat, Calliope, and I (allegedly) share a birthday, making us the ultimate gemini twins.

What is your advice to future and current students at ACC?
College is what you make of it. Get involved, talk to people, ask for help, find your passions. If something doesn't work or you don't like it, switch it up! Their is nothing wrong with changing your mind, or pivoting to something new. Life is about evolution.
