COF

College Opportunity Fund (COF) stipend is accessible to all residents of Colorado that have been living here for 12 months or more and will reduce your tuition by $116 per credit hour. This stipend must be authorized in your student portal (myACC) each semester and will appear on your bill approximately 2-3 business days once it has been authorized. *Note: Only authorize COF once per semester or your 2-3 day window begins again.

Billing Statements

Monthly Statements / Invoices are generated on the 15th of each month. You can easily locate your statement by:

1. Logging into your myACC student portal
2. Locate the Student Finance page
3. Click on Monthly Statements & Billing Notices Card
4. Click on Statements to view or print all your statements and/or invoices

If you paid with a valid (non‑expired, open) credit or debit card, your refund will be returned to that card—up to the original payment amount. You’ll receive an email confirming the refund and the amount issued.

BankMobile (BMTX, Inc.)


Almost all refunds are issued through BankMobile. Be sure to set up your BankMobile account and keep your address, phone number, and bank info up to date.  

Recommended: Choose Deposit to an Existing Bank Account—it’s the fastest and most secure option.

Common reasons for a BankMobile refund:

• Financial Aid disbursement exceeds your semester balance.
• Dropping a course after paying with:
  • 529 plan
  • Check
  • Bank account
  • Credit card
  • Cash

How the BankMobile Refund Process Works

• BankMobile sends out refunds every Friday
• You’ll receive a notification with your refund amount

Delivery Times

• Direct Deposit: 1–2 business days
• Paper Check: 7–10 business days (inactive accounts may add 10 extra days)
• BankMobile Account (Checking / Savings): Funds available on the same day
  • Note: ACC is not responsible for issues with BankMobile accounts—contact BankMobile directly for support

Collections Process

All Colorado Community Colleges follow a standard statewide collections process outlined in the Account Agreement that every student signs.

If your account is sent to collections, the assigned agency will contact you with payment options. If the balance remains unpaid and the agency is unable to collect, your account is then transferred to the Colorado Department of Revenue, which will garnish your state tax refund until your balance is paid in full.

Finance Holds & Collections Steps

1. Account Hold: A hold is placed on your student account until the balance is fully paid.
2. Mailed Notices: Two collection notices are sent to your address via USPS.
   • Make sure your mailing address is current in your myACC portal.
3. Collection Fee: A 30% collection commission is added to your account when it is sent to a collection agency.
4. 45-Day Window: You have 45 days to resolve your balance before it is reported to national credit bureaus.
5. State Tax Intercept: As a Colorado state agency, ACC may intercept your Colorado state income tax refunds through the Department of Revenue to recover unpaid debts.
