Health Innovation Center Project Earns LEED certification

Arapahoe Community College's (ACC) Health Innovation Center and annex renovation project has been awarded silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) in their Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) ID+C rating system. 

Silver certification in the LEED ID+C (Interior Design and Construction) rating system indicates a commitment to sustainable practices beyond the baseline requirements, demonstrating improvement in the areas of energy efficiency, water conservation, and material selection.

Available for virtually all building types, LEED provides a framework for healthy, efficient, and cost-saving green buildings. The LEED ID+C rating system focuses on sustainability of interior spaces, and the silver certification demonstrates a commitment to sustainable practices, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and material selection. The USGBC is the organization that manages the LEED certification process. LEED is the most widely used green building rating system in the world.

The Health Innovation Center project was a collaboration between ACC, Anderson Mason Dale Architects, Cator, Ruma & Associates, Group14 Engineering, and Haselden Construction. The ACC Sturm Collaboration Campus at Castle Rock achieved LEED certification in the spring of 2021.
