Biography
Aaron Hawkins is a faculty member in Emerging Media & Digital Animation at Arapahoe Community College, where he brings over 20 years of industry experience in 2D animation, storytelling, and creative leadership. His professional background includes directing and producing animated content for major platforms such as Netflix, Hulu, Adult Swim, Marvel, and Disney. As a founding director at Bento Box Entertainment’s Atlanta studio, he oversaw large-scale production teams and helped shape pipelines for episodic and branded content.
Aaron’s academic focus centers on the integration of industry-standard practices into the classroom, preparing students for careers in animation, digital design, and emerging media. He also plays an active role in fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration through ACC’s HIVE MakerSpace.
In addition to his teaching, Aaron serves as Vice President of ASIFA-Colorado, the regional chapter of the International Animated Film Association, where he supports animation education and professional development throughout the state.
Aaron holds a BFA in Film, Animation & Video from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
