International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to recognize and celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. Governor Polis has also signed a Proclamation officially declaring this week as International Education Week in Colorado in 2022! Here are some of the many ways that ACC supports this initiative.
Outbound Study Abroad: Watch for a Study Abroad ‘Pop Up’ at the Littleton Campus throughout the week of November 14-18! ACC’s outbound Study Abroad Program is flourishing post-covid with a recently completed trip to Amsterdam and Berlin plus an upcoming and exciting opportunity for ACC students to study in Spain and Portugal. Help ACC celebrate International Education Week by viewing student artwork from the Amsterdam and Berlin study abroad trip in the “Arts on the Move” exhibition at the Littleton Campus main building. You will find exciting and unique pieces on display in Career Services (M2450), Academic Advising (M2010), and the Library & Learning Commons (M2500). Inbound International Programs: ACC Moves Mountains Across the Globe! This fall, ACC is currently supporting students who have chosen to study with us from many different countries, including France, Vietnam, Japan, Mexico, the UK, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea (South), Haiti, Colombia, Canada, and more! Students from countries all across the world are showing interest in pursuing their higher education goals in the United States and community colleges offer excellent opportunities for them to begin their studies at a lower cost and in a smaller classroom environment. ACC (via CCCS) is also a proud member of StudyColorado whose primary mission is to promote Colorado as a higher education destination. Working together, we provide quality education to support a global environment for the future. Workforce and Community Programs: WCP provides the local Au Pair community with affordable courses and opportunities that support the educational requirements needed as part of their international exchange experience. Other WCP international education support includes ESL courses and partnerships with local Study Abroad programs. Learn more about Workforce and Community Programs and register for classes.
ACC Foundation: Supports our local community to “Climb Together” through their mission: “The Foundation works to advance the mission of the college by providing financial assistance and opportunities to students, encouraging public support for the college, and strengthening the teaching, learning and cultural environment of the college and our community.” The Foundation is also providing a scholarship opportunity for current F1 visa international students attending ACC through Fall 2023!
