Fujii Named AACC Board Chair-Elect

Arapahoe Community College (ACC) President Stephanie J. Fujii, PhD, has been named Chair-Elect for the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Board of Directors for 2026-27.

The AACC is the primary advocacy organization for the nation’s community colleges, representing more than 1,000 two-year, associate degree-granting institutions and nearly 10.5 million students. The AACC Board is committed to guaranteeing accountability of AACC to the membership.

Fujii begins her 6th year as President at ACC in 2026-27. She previously served as Vice President of Academic Affairs at Scottsdale Community College and has more than 37 years of higher education experience as a counselor, faculty member, and administrator. Fujii serves on the board of Campus Compact and is the Past President of the National Asian/Pacific Islander Council (NAPIC; affiliated council of the AACC).

Fujii, who is currently serving on the AACC Board of Directors (2024-27), was also recently named to the ASU + GSV Higher Education Insights Board, as well as to the 3rd cohort of the Aspen Presidents Fellowship. She holds a bachelor's degree in Communication and a graduate degree in Counseling (both from the University of Nevada, Reno), as well as a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies (Arizona State University).
