Colorado Gallery of the Arts at ACC Transitions to Virtual Exhibits

The Colorado Gallery of the Arts at Arapahoe Community College has temporarily transitioned its exhibits to a virtual gallery.

The ACC Art & Design Student Show, the annual Community & Workforce Programs exhibit, Spectrum, and the Kaleidoscope Juried Community Exhibition are all now available online for viewing. These online exhibits are comprised of individual and collaborative artworks that represent the level of craftsmanship and artistic expression emerging from students in the ACC Art & Design programs, as well as creative concepts from members of the community at-large.

The newly-unveiled Study Abroad gallery, entitled Across the Globe, is also available online. These collections of art, photography and images came from recent ACC Study Abroad trips to Italy, Japan, Greece, Barcelona, Paris and London.

"COVID-19 cannot stop artists from creating art, nor will it keep us from showing it,” said Trish Sangelo, Director of the Colorado Gallery of the Arts at ACC. “The art world has been using virtual galleries for a long time. They have just become more popular during COVID-19. With a little creativity and ingenuity, we now have a platform to continue showcasing the talents of our art students and artists in our communities.”

Several ACC student exhibitions will also be on display at physical locations throughout the community in the upcoming months. Locations will include Englewood Camera, the Colorado Community College System administration office and conference center, Denver Community Credit Union, Castle Rock Adventist Hospital, and several South Suburban Recreation Centers, including Buck, Goodson and Lone Tree.
