The Arapahoe Community College Foundation was selected as the 2019 Non-Profit of the Year by the Chamber of Northwest Douglas County and Economic Development Corporation at the organization’s annual breakfast on Friday, January 31.

The Chamber of Northwest Douglas County presented a total of six Business Awards, with the ACC Foundation winning top honors in the Non-Profit of the Year category.

“We are honored to receive this prestigious recognition from the Chamber of Northwest Douglas County and Economic Development Corporation,” said Courtney Loehfelm, Executive Director of the ACC Foundation. “This honor reflects the dedication and commitment of our Board of Directors, our community partners and our generous donors.”

In 2019, the ACC Foundation received a gift of up to $10 million from the Sturm Family Foundation. One of the largest gifts in the history of the Colorado Community College System, over $5 million is available for dollar-for-dollar matching for students and programs at ACC’s Sturm Collaboration Campus in Castle Rock.

“Thanks to the Sturm Family Foundation and the matching Lift the Gift campaign, we are able to develop a unique program innovation fund and an endowed scholarship fund,” stated Loehfelm.

The ACC Foundation provides financial assistance and broad-based community support for ACC’s students and programs, making a positive impact on the economic development of our community by providing an educated workforce.
