Sigma Phi Shines at PTK Spring Regional Convention

ACC PTK students 2017The Arapahoe Community College Sigma Phi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa earned top honors in three categories during the annual Colorado/Wyoming Spring Regional Convention on March 10-11 at Colorado Northwestern Community College in Rangely.
Sigma Phi collected top honors for College Project, Distinguished Chapter and Honors in Action Project, as well as second-place accolades for Distinguished Officer Team. Additionally, Sigma Phi President Leah Porter garnered Distinguished Officer recognition.
Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society of two-year colleges, is the largest honor society in American higher education. It was established in 1918 to recognize and encourage scholarship among associate-degree seeking students. ACC’s Sigma Phi Chapter, which was chartered in 1968, has inducted over 3,700 members and has maintained its Five-Star status for 18 years. Dr. Fida Obeidi and Shari Culver serve as the Sigma Phi Chapter co-advisors at ACC.
