ACC receives national recognition for excellence in student voter engagement

All in Challenge Awards - Best in Class

Arapahoe Community College has won “Best in Class” awards in two categories from the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge.

ACC garnered first place in highest student voting rate among all participating two-year, public institutions, and in highest student voting rate among participating medium-sized, two-year, public institutions. ACC also earned a Silver Seal for achieving a student voting rate between 60-69%.

“Voting is an important privilege and a hard-earned right,” stated Dr. Lisa Matye Edwards, ACC Vice President for Student Affairs. “We are proud that ACC can help students understand and actively exercise this through civic engagement. It is the bedrock of our democracy.”

The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge recognizes colleges and universities for their commitment to increasing student voting rates in the presidential election. The national awards program encourages institutions of higher education to help students form the habits of active and informed citizenship, and to make democratic participation a core value on campus. Nearly 300 campuses nationwide, enrolling more than four million students, have joined the ALL IN Challenge since its launch in 2016.
