ACC to host "Umbria: A Sense of Place"

The Colorado Gallery of the Arts at Arapahoe Community College will host Umbria: A Sense of Place from Sept. 2 - Oct. 16.  An opening reception with light refreshments will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

The show will be comprised of paintings and photographs created by ACC students and faculty who traveled to La Romita School of Art in Umbria, Italy, for two weeks during the summer of 2014.

artwork by Judith PurcellACC's painting students were introduced to the particular concerns and methods associated in working with the Italian landscape and cityscape, while ACC's photography students learned creative methods associated with documenting the Italian landscape, cityscape and people.

Admission is free and the exhibition is open to the public.  Hours of operation at the Colorado Gallery of the Arts for this exhibition are as follows:

MONDAY - FRIDAY:  Noon - 5:00 p.m. (open Tuesdays until 7:00 p.m.)
