Biography

Dr. Lewan began her studies at a small community college and continued her education pursuing an early passion for reading and writing as an English major. She has taught writing and literature for thirty years and has served as Composition Coordinator and Chair of English at Arapahoe Community College. She is currently the Statewide Faculty Curriculum Council representative for Arapahoe Community College. Dr. Lewan has been awarded the "Teaching Beyond the Bounds" award by the students at ACC, and she has been recognized as a Distinguished Faculty member. She is responsible for designing the Creative Nonfiction course for the state community college system, and she has been instrumental in designing methods of assessment for the College as well as designing department assessments for the core composition courses. Dr. Lewan has presented papers at both the Colorado E-Learning Conference and at TYCA conferences and the Conference on College Composition and Communication.
