Biography
I got my first microscope in junior high, and started a science club soon after. Ever since I took part in a NSF-sponsored program at a cancer research lab while in high school, I was hooked on bacteria and DNA. My graduate research focused on the genetics of a bacteriophage (with a little biochemistry thrown in), the best of all worlds.
I love traveling, the outdoors, and hiking. I also volunteer at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science in Expedition Health, where I get to explain science to the young and young at heart.
