Upcoming Workshops and Webinars (Students)

The workshops are hands-on sessions and will be offered in the eLearning Department (Room M1710). You can enjoy the webinars (online presentations) from the comfort of your home. If you are attending a webinar, click on the “Join Meeting” link on the scheduled date and time. Expected duration for each webinar or workshop is 30 minutes.

Below is a list of offered workshops/webinars and a small description for each:

  • Notifications: Learn how to set up your account to receive instant notifications via email or on your mobile phone.
  • Quizzes: Use the Quizzes tool to take a quiz, review your quiz results, and see class statistics for a quiz.
  • D2L Email: The D2L Email tool allows you to send and receive emails from within Learning Environment.
  • Discussions: The Discussions tool is a collaboration area to post, read and reply to posts on different topics, share thoughts about course materials, ask questions, share files, or work with your peers on assignments and homework.
  • DropBox: The Dropbox tool enables you to submit assignments in Desire2Learn, eliminating the need to mail, fax, or email your work to instructors.

  • Releasing Final Grades: Learn how to release final grades in the D2L Grades tool.
  • Incorporating Universal Design for Learning: Learn how to incorporate universal design into your D2L courses.
  • Setting up a Weighted Gradebook: Learn how to set up a weighted gradebook using the Grades tool in D2L.
  • Setting up a Points Gradebook: Learn how to set up a points gradebook using the Grades tool in D2L.
  • Accessible HTML (D2L WYSIWYG editor): Learn how to use accessibility guidelines to create HTML files in D2L.
