Rochelle (Shelly) is a Brooklyn, New York native, born to immigrant parents, who earned their high school equivalency diplomas through New York public education night schooling. Shelly pursued her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Public Administration, as a non-traditional student, through California State Universities, and further course study for Adult Teaching and Methods at Colorado State University.
In addition to GED instruction at ACC, Shelly teaches crochet classes. The traditional craft was inspired and taught to her by her grandmother and is implemented through a ministry where special-needs populations are gifted chemo hats, lap robes and other handcrafted items.
An avid nature enthusiast, Shelly is a volunteer naturalist at Roxborough State Park, providing recreational and educational opportunities. Shelly is married, has two adult children, and is further blessed with five grandchildren, who provide further opportunity to enhance tutorial skills.
