The Career Center provides students with assistance in making career and employment decisions in vocational and academic environments. We also help you find part-time, full-time, seasonal, and temporary employment.

Employment Services for Students

Our employment services focus on a variety of employment related experiences for students while going to college or after completing their studies. We offer:

  • Online Colorado job postings targeted to ACC students and alumni at the ACC Job Board, Jobs in Colorado
  • Out-of-state job postings targeted to ACC students are only posted in the Career Center
  • Additional internet links can be downloaded for job resources at Employment Web Sites
  • Internships
  • On-campus recruitment by employers.
  • Career Library resources that provide up-to-date career planning, job search, interviewing, and resume information.
  • Resume writing, interview techniques and job search seminars.
  • Resume critiques.
  • Job search and interviewing individual assistance.

Career Services

We provide up-to-date information on career exploration and development, and career decisions. We can help you develop a plan to fit your needs and steer you in the direction you want to go, based on realistic self-knowledge. Specifically, we can provide you with the following information:

  • Monthly career planning seminars for people who want a place to start in their research (small fee). Seminars include:
    • Completion and group interpretation of the results for:
      • Strong Interest Inventory (SII)
      • Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
      • Skills, values, aptitude assessments
    • Computer based career research and Career Center library publications orientation
    • Job search techniques
      Fall 2009 Career Planning Seminar brochure
  • Academic course, AAA 175 - Career Exploration, two credits - assists students in developing career plans using self-knowledge, career exploration, and job search techniques; and includes site visits to explore high demand or emergent careers
  • A career library with information about occupations, career planning, interviewing, and resume skills.
  • ECOCIS and Choices computer software packages and internet access programs that give you updated information on current occupations, videos of careers, pay ranges, schools that offer programs, employers who hire in the occupation and scholarship information (free).

We also offer you the opportunity to sit down with a Career Counselor, to help you find your direction.

Fast, easy, and convenient access to the Arapahoe Community College talent pool starts at the ACC Career Center. In our role as a liaison between the college and the workplace, our staff will help you build bridges for easy access to current students and the community. The Career Center is a primary resource for candidates. Whether your business is established or just getting started, whether your focus is local or global, we will help you make the right connections to optimize your campus recruiting efforts.

ACC Career Center Job Posting

  • Post Colorado jobs and internships online free of charge on the ACC Job Board at Jobs in Colorado (job descriptions can be pasted into the Web site)
  • List ‘Internship’ in the title if it is an internship posted online
  • Post job fair announcements in the Career Center by sending to careers@arapahoe.edu. For a fee, you can also post online by contacting www.jobing.com
  • Send out-of-state job postings to careers@arapahoe.edu and they will be posted only in the Career Center, not online.
  • An internship offered for credit that relates to an ACC academic major can also be e-mailed to careers@arapahoe.edu.

On-Campus Employer Recruitment
In all of our relationships with employers, we emphasize personal attention and accessibility. Our Career Center team will partner with you to develop a recruiting strategy tailored to your hiring goals.
