Can I get research help after hours?
The library is here for you 24/7 — no matter where you are or what time it is, get help through AskAcademic!

What do I need to check out books from the Library?
Your ACC student ID card is also your library card. You can obtain a student  ID card from Campus Police in Room M2630. You will need this card to check materials out of the Library, view audio/visual materials, check out laptops to be used in the Library, check out reserve items, and to print.

Where can I find the usernames and passwords for the databases?
Databases can be accessed from any on-campus computer without the use of usernames or passwords. For off-campus access, we use EZproxy for remote authentication. This means you only need to enter your S number once for easy access to most of our databases. For the few that are not covered by EZproxy, you will find the username and password on the Library tab in myACC under the heading, "Research Databases" in the middle column. If your S number is not accepted, please see the Library tab in myACC for a generic S number.

Is wireless Internet access available in the Library?
Yes. Wireless access is available throughout the Library. Most users can simply bring their wireless-enabled laptops to the Library and access the Internet.

What is the Library's Computer Use Policy?
In accordance with Colorado Community College System's General Computer and Information Systems Procedures, screen displays of images, sounds or messages that could create an atmosphere of discomfort or harassment for others, especially those considered obscene or sexually explicit are prohibited. Violation of this procedure may result in the loss of computer privileges.

  • ACC students have priority over non-students.
  • Use of computers for research has priority over all other uses.
  • A picture ID must be presented if requested by a librarian or library staff member.
  • Food is not permitted at computer stations. Covered drinks are allowed.
  • All computer users must pay 10 cents per page for black and white and 25 cents per page for color printing. Pay at the circulation desk.
  • Be aware that any and all files saved to a library computer are deleted each time the computer is restarted.

What types of computers and tablets are available for checkout?
The library offers laptops, Kindles, Kindle Fires and iPads for checkout.

  • Laptops - Check out a Mac or PC for use in the library
  • Kindles and Kindle Fires - Check out and access to nearly 400 books on these thin, lightweight ebook readers
  • iPads - Check one out for 2 weeks with access to the internet, your email, and read Kindle books

When is the material I have checked-out considered overdue?  When is it considered lost?

  • All books that leave the library circulate for a 3-week period. All iPads and their accompanying cords circulate for 2 weeks, whereas Kindles and cords circulate for 3 weeks. Some material, such as certain DVDs, check-out for one week. We will happily tell you your due date upon checking out your items.
  • Material is considered overdue after the 21th day (for all books, CDS and Kindles). From here, you will accrue .20/day (EXCEPT for Holidays and Sundays) for every day your item is overdue.
  • iPads and iPad cords are considered overdue after the 14th day they are out. Electronic devices, such as Kindles or iPads, accrue a $1.00/day charge for every day they are overdue; cords that accompany iPads or Kindles accrue .25/day. These outstanding over-due charges will automatically be billed to your account.
  • After your item has been overdue for 3 weeks, it will automatically go into a lost status. This means that the value of the item that you have out will automatically be placed onto your library account. We will also charge a $6.00 processing fee for any item that has gone into lost status.

What happens after my account has been charged with a lost item?

You will receive an email from ACC Library with the amount of the item and details about the item that has not been turned in. You can call our Public Services Librarian, Casey Lansinger, at any time to discuss the items that have been lost or if you believe there is an error with your bill. Additionally, if you are having a difficult time paying your overdue and/or lost balance, we will be happy to work with you on a suitable solution.

What happens if I just cannot find the item that I checked out and would like to come pay the amount to get my account down to a $0 balance?

If you are paying by cash, come on into the library and we are happy to settle your account here. If you are just paying overdue fines, we can take care of that. If you are paying for a lost item, we will waive the overdue fees and just charge you the value of the lost item plus the $6.00 processing charge per lost item. If you cannot pay with cash or check, you may pay your balance at the cashier’s office. They accept most major credit cards.

What if I don't pay my outstanding balance?

Failure to pay an outstanding library balance will eventually result in your account being sent to a State Collection Agency. In addition, a hold will be placed on both your student account and library account. You will be unable to check out additional material until you have settled your bill. A block on your student account will result in you being unable to register for classes, check your grades, etc. Again, if you are cannot find your library items or are struggling to pay your bill, just let us know! We are happy to help in whatever way we can.

What if my items go into a lost item status but then I find them?

If you find items laying around that have gone into a lost status, just bring them on in! The $6.00 processing fee and lost item value will automatically be waived and your remaining balance will be the overdue fines you accrued.

Can I save documents from the Library's computers onto an external source?
Yes. CD-Rs are available for $1, CD-RWs for $2, and 4 GB flash drives are $15.

Can I print documents from the Library computers?
Yes. Printing is available via our print management system, PaperCut. You are allotted $25.00 in printouts at the beginning of each semester. Your printouts will be automatically deducted from this balance in the amount of 10 cents per page for black and white and 25 cents per page for color. Please ask for help if you are unsure about printing.

Does the Library have a copy machine and scanner?
Yes! The Library has one copy machine on the second floor. Copies are 10 cents per black and white page. We also have a small scanner on the reference desk and a large scanner next to the circulation desk. There is no charge to use the scanners.

How do I reserve a study room?
The library has study rooms for both large and small group study. You can make a reservation by visiting the library tab in my ACC or calling the library at 303.797.5090.

Are children allowed in the Library?
