Other Learning Options
Following is a brief description of various learning options at ACC. Refer
to current schedule for specific courses being offered.
Just In Time/Accelerated Courses
- require less classroom time than traditional classes
- additional hours by arrangement with significant outside classroom
coursework
Arrangement (ARGMT)
- require students to complete projects or other required class
activities with faculty direction
Flex
- provide flexibility of learning at your own pace
- iInstructors available during posted hours in the classroom
- instructors will answer your questions, support your progress
and promote your success.
Hybrid
- less classroom time than traditional classes
- additional online activities and online class content
- students who do not have a computer with Internet access may
use computers at the Open Computer Lab to meet the online requirements
of the hybrid class.
Co-Op/Internship
- A period of apprenticeship for students to work off campus, under supervision providing an opportunity to learn practical applications of classroom material.
Late Start
- begin at a date after the beginning of the semester.
Online Course
- use features of the Internet rather than classroom lectures
as the primary teaching method
- provide flexibility to students with busy schedules and appeal
to students who are highly motivated and self-directed.

Telecourses
- delivered via televised lectures.
- lectures available on Channel 6 or in the ACC Media Center Viewing
Room or through a tape rental program
- In addition to watching the programs, you will complete reading
assignments, projects and/or papers, and take exams.
Professional Achievement Awards
- convenient, short-term educational programs
- no-nonsense, high impact, application-oriented experiences designed
by professional practitioners.
- complete within a year or less, following “fast-track”
and accelerated schedules.
- “C” or better required in each class to receive
the award.
- Note: Professional Achievement Programs are eligible for financial
aid only as the courses apply to degree or vocational certificate
programs.
