University Center at Chaparral Hosting Holiday Luncheon for Friends, Family and Members of the Parker Pals Multiple Sclerosis Support Group

(November 28, 2007 - Parker, Colo.) The Parker Pals Multiple Sclerosis Support Group will host their 2007 Holiday Luncheon for members and their friends and family on Wednesday, December 12. The luncheon will take place at the group's newest meeting location, the University Center at Chaparral (UCC), 15653 Brookstone Drive in Parker. UCC is an extended campus of Arapahoe Community College. The luncheon will feature food trays donated from both the Englewood and Parker locations of Jason's Deli.

Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic debilitating neurological disease of the brain and spinal cord that renders many people physically disabled. "Some of the Parker Pals are on fixed incomes, unable to work, and/or have substantial medical bills, so a Holiday Luncheon with friends and family is an extra special treat," remarks group member and UCC Administrative Assistant Ashley Paggen.

"Parker Pals members are full of life, and they love to share and care for one another through the good and bad times," remarks Group Leader Kathy Spies. "They are all very excited about the holiday season and since this special treat is the first of its kind the Mayor of Parker, David Casiano, will be in attendance along with other special representatives from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS)."

Parker Pals members have been active in Parker and the surrounding area for over ten years and their diverse group has grown to over 35. Over their long history, Parker Pals members have regularly participated in several NMSS events such as: National Challenge Walk, MS 150 Bike Ride, MS Bike Ride Rest Stop (sponsored by the Steaming Bean on behalf of the Parker Pals Chapter) and the Annual MS Walk.
