Arapahoe Community College Celebrates National Pharmacy Technician Day with Lecture and Open House

(September 26, 2007 Littleton, Colo.) The seventeenth annual National Pharmacy Technician Day will be celebrated by the Pharmacy Technician Training and Education Program at Arapahoe Community College on Tuesday, October 23. National Pharmacy Technician Day honors the estimated 3,900 Coloradoans employed as Pharmacy Technicians and recognizes that demand for employees in the field is becoming increasingly strong as the baby boomer population ages.

The community, especially those interested in working in a pharmacy, are encouraged to come to a Pharmacy Technician Program Open House at ACC, 5900 South Santa Fe Drive, from 3 to 6 p.m. in Room A2210 of the Annex Building. Attendees will get to enjoy refreshments while faculty and staff answer questions about the Pharmacy Technician Program and provide a tour of the program's state-of-the-art facilities for pharmaceutical compounding and dispensing.

Prior to the public open house, in the morning of National Pharmacy Technician Day, Dr. Barr Forman, MD, Scientific Medical Director for Novo Nordisk will present a lecture to students and faculty on early use of insulin for Type 2 diabetics. Novo Nordisk, Inc. is a world leader in diabetic care. For more information contact Dr. Larry Allen at 303.797.5944.
