(November 5, 2007 - Littleton, Colo.) The public is invited to a book signing session with Mary LoVerde at Arapahoe Community College's library at 5900 South Santa Fe Drive in Littleton. The book signing takes place on November 19 from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. LoVerde is an internationally recognized best selling author and frequent Oprah Winfrey Show guest. Her best selling books focus on "life balance" strategies and include: "Stop Screaming at the Microwave," "Touching Tomorrow," and "I Used to Have a Handle on Life but It Broke." "Life balancing," is the art of applying yourself to your personal and professional life in a matter that adequately meets one's true obligations while sustaining a sense of satisfaction with the quality of one's life.

Explains LoVerde, "A USA Today survey found that 75 percent of CEOs and 88 percent of middle managers listed balancing work and family as a major concern." She adds, "Companies who excel at addressing the life balancing needs will have a recruiting advantage because never before have we needed a workforce to perform at such highly productive and efficient levels." LoVerde concludes, "Futurists predict that the U.S. will have a shortfall of 10 million workers in the next five years and with unprecedented degrees of change, fierce competition and narrowing profits on a global basis, balancing our work and personal life has never made better business sense."

Prior to going on the national circuit, LoVerde was a master's level Adult Nurse Practitioner who directed the University of Colorado School of Medicine's Hypertension Research Center for 15 years. LoVerde has published her original research in the New England Journal of Medicine, the American Journal of Medicine and many other highly selective journals. Her articles have also appeared in prominent magazines and newspapers, from the Wall Street Journal to Family Circle.

Prior to her book signing appearance, LoVerde will make a keynote presentation to ACC employees at the College's "Building Campus Connections" in-service. Her keynote to the faculty and staff at ACC's Waring Theatre is entitled, "I Used to Have a Handle on Life But It Broke: Innovative Strategies for Keeping Your Life in Balance."
