CEO of Lockheed Martin and Boeing Venture to Address Arapahoe Community College's Fortieth Commencement on May 12

(May 2, 2007 – Littleton, Colo.) Arapahoe Community College (ACC) will hold its Fortieth Annual Commencement on Saturday, May 12. The graduation ceremonies will begin at 9:30 a.m. on the South Lawn of the campus.

The 2007 graduation address will be delivered by Michael C. Gass, President and CEO of United Launch Alliance (ULA). ULA is a joint venture between Boeing and Lockheed Martin that produces the Atlas V, Delta II, and Delta IV launch vehicles. The joint venture officially began operations in December 2006. ULA's operations include production at the former Boeing plant in Decatur, Alabama with engineering operations remaining at the Lockheed Martin Complex in Littleton.

ACC’s commencement will honor over 1,000 ACC students who earned an Associate degree or certificate from the College during the 2006-2007 academic year. In the event of inclement weather, the alternate graduation site is Orchard Road Christian Center at 8081 E. Orchard Rd. (I-25 and Orchard Rd. in Greenwood Village). Should the weather be threatening, graduation participants should call 303-797-5750 or visit www.arapahoe.edu on May 12 to check for an announcement regarding the location of the ceremony. American Sign Language interpreting services will be provided for this event.
