Library Resources for Small and Home Based Business to be Discussed
(July 17, 2007 - Littleton, Colo.) On Tuesday, July 24 from noon to 1 p.m., the University Center at Chaparral (UCC) will host a Parker Chamber of Commerce "Brown Bag Luncheon" presentation about the ins and outs of navigating library resources for small and home based businesses. The presentation will be given by Patt Paul, manager of Douglas County Libraries' Parker Branch. The UCC is operated by Arapahoe Community College.
Paul will review how the library furnishes small and home based business operators: the newest pertinent books; meeting room space; computer and database access; and how, librarians provide expert assistance in research and library instruction to facilitate their success. According to Paul, a key objective of the Douglas County Libraries is to provide the tools and training necessary to help local businesses succeed. She will also discuss: how the library can save businesses time and money; what small business resources are available; how to access the library any time from any where; and, how professional librarians can answer questions, both large and small, to ensure entrepreneurs get the best information available to meet their specific needs.
Paul has managed the Parker branch for 13 years. As an active member of the Parker community, she has also served as a Parker Chamber of Commerce Ambassador for five years and a Parker Breakfast Club member for 12 years. Her professional library experience includes teaching: library skills at the Community College of Denver and, hands-on business librarianship.
The "Brown Bag Luncheon" is free and open to the public. There will also be a 30 minute period before and after the presentation, at which time the presenters and the participants are welcome to network. Those interested in attending should RSVP to Gwen Young at 303.734.4822 or
