Public Invited to Learn "The Anatomy of the Legal System"
(February 1, 2007 - Littleton , Colo. ) The Arapahoe County Bar Association, in conjunction with Arapahoe Community College 's Paralegal Program, will present a free lecture entitled "Anatomy of the Legal System" on February 20. This free event for the public will be presented from 7-9 p.m. in the Half Moon, Room M1800, of ACC's Main Campus in Littleton .
"Anatomy of the Legal System," will feature several prominent attorneys and judges who will discuss topics such as the reality of the justice system and pragmatically what judges can and cannot actually do.
"We are delighted to partner with the Arapahoe Bar Association to present this lecture which will be the first of a series of free talks open to the public about the law, our justice system and how it applies to everybody," comments ACC Paralegal Faculty-member Barbara Borow-Stephen. The series has been dubbed "The People's Law School ," by the Bar Association and College and will feature such topics as: the justice system, elder law, criminal law, family law and the judicial and jail-facility shortage.
David Stevens, the president-elect of the Arapahoe County Bar Association, initiated "The People's Law School ." Stevens remarks, "You can't get through a day without the legal system touching you on some level. This program will help the public get a clear look into the workings of our legal system and learn a bit about specific areas of law that might be affecting their lives."
