ACC, PowerBar and Niketown Launch 5K Run
to Benefit Colorado's Denver and Aurora Ronald McDonald Houses

(September 7, 2007 - Littleton, Colo.) Arapahoe Community College, PowerBar and Niketown are sponsoring a 5K Run and 1,200-meter Children's Fun Run at 8 a.m. on Sunday, September 30. Participants should meet in the north lot of ACC at 5900 South Santa Fe Drive in Littleton.

Net proceeds of the run will support families who need temporary lodging at a Ronald McDonald house while their seriously ill children are treated at local hospitals. In recognition of the beneficiary of this charitable event, ACC has dubbed it, "The Run of the House Inaugural 5K and Children's Fun Run."

Colorado's original 31-room Ronald McDonald House is in Denver and a new location with 45-rooms will be opening soon in Aurora. "By participating in this event, participants will make it possible for more families to afford to be with their loved ones in a desperate time of need," says ACC Marketing Faculty Member and race organizer Carl Bergemann.

Adult entry fee for the 5K Run is $25 on the day of the race. A $5 discount is available to those who register in advance by sending a check payable to Arapahoe Community College to Carl Bergemann c/o Arapahoe Community College, 5900 South Santa Fe Drvie, Littleton, Colorado, 80160. The entry fee for those who register in advance for the 1,200-meter Children's Fun Run, for kids 14 and under, is $10. The fee to register children the day of the race is $25. Children 9 and under and from 10-14 will each have their own brackets in the Fun Run and all children who complete the race will receive medals.
