Dr. Colorado Coming to ACC

CU-Denver History Professor Tom Noel

Above, "Dr. Colorado," CU-Denver History Professor Tom Noel talks to an audience about Colorado's colorful history.

(April 5, 2007 – Littleton, Colo.) On Monday, April 16, at 6 p.m., in Arapahoe Community College’s Waring Theater, “Dr. Colorado,” Tom Noel, will present a “Liquid History of Colorado.”  The public is invited to this free and entertaining talk. Noel is a professor of History with the University of Colorado and a former chair of the Denver Landmark Preservation Commission. Currently, he is a National Register reviewer for Colorado.

Noel’s “Liquid History” takes the audience on a little trip through the back-alleys and speakeasies of the Centennial State that put Colorado on the map of nation’s consciousness. His presentation also gives insight on the pivotal characters and events that have had a great impact on Colorado and where it is today.

“This evening promises to be a collection of facts, lore, and legend not only about Colorado but about Denver,” explains ACC Student Activities staffer Matt Bowman. “You will delve into our rich past, meet some of the characters who have given the Mile High City it’s own personality, and get a chance to bone up on little-known local facts.”

For more information contact Matt Bowman at 303.797.5667. To request special accommodations, also contact Bowman at least three days before the presentation.
