(March 20, 2007 – Littleton, Colo.)  Denver Broncos Cornerback Domonique Foxworth and his mother Karen, will give a keynote address about the importance of college at the Arapahoe Community College Foundation’s first scholarship recognition luncheon on April 4.  The luncheon takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Inverness Hotel and Conference Center, 200 Inverness Drive West in Englewood. Profits from the event will support community college scholarships. Less than 100 tickets remain and they can be reserved by calling 303.797.5914.  Tickets are $25 each. VIP tickets and corporate tables are available as well.

The luncheon, dubbed “Education: Stairway to Achievement” features Foxworth who earned one degree in his third year at the University of Maryland and a second in his fourth year. Foxworth and his mother will discuss the legacy of Arapahoe Community College with empowering learners in the south metro area, the responsibility of children and parents when it comes to quality in education and the importance of giving and the profound difference it can create.

“Succeeding in higher education like Domonique did while meeting the rigorous 24-7 demands of being a division one collegiate athlete was a remarkable accomplishment,” remarks ACC Foundation Chair, John Libby. “I look forward to Foxworth’s message and hope it will inspire prospective community college students everywhere who depend on philanthropists in the community to assist them in accessing a higher education.”

Besides raising money for much needed scholarships, the event will honor those who have already created scholarships to remove the financial barrier to higher education to those who are motivated to improve their lives. The event will be emceed by KCNC CBS4 Sportscaster and former Denver Bronco Reggie Rivers.

Media sponsors of “Education: Stairway to Achievement” include KCNC CBS 4 News and Colorado Community Newspapers and Evergreen Newspapers.
