ACC Treats Community to Free Concerts

 

(April 6, 2007 – Littleton, Colo.) The public is invited a series of free concerts in late April and early May, presented by Arapahoe Community College’s community musicians. All of the following performances will be held in the Waring Theater and will commence at 7 p.m. 

Thursday, April 26, the ACC Orchestra, directed by René Knetsch, will be performing pieces by Mendelssohn, Bach, Vivaldi and Joplin.

Friday, April 27, ACC Opera Scenes and Vocal Ensemble will perform. ACC Opera Scenes is directed by Katrina Twitty. ACC Vocal Ensemble is directed by Mayumi Yotsumoto. This concert will feature scenes from the musical Chicago, as well as Lakmé.

Monday, April 30, the ACC Chorus and the Arapahoe Concert Chorale, both directed by Ron Kientz, will sing selections from classical, popular and Broadway songs.

Friday, May 4, the ACC Jazz Ensemble, Strings & Things (a pop strings orchestra), and ACC Concert Band will present a concert. All three groups are under the direction of Cecil Lewis.
