ACC President’s Scholarships awarded to 44 students

(July 28, 2009 - Littleton, CO) Forty four students from area high schools have received the President’s Scholarship for the Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 semesters at Arapahoe Community College. The students will be recognized during a reception Tuesday, July 28, at 5:30 p.m. in the ACC Dining Hall.

Five qualified students will receive the grant a second year. Fifteen students who maintain a 3.25 grade-point-average as a college student and complete at least 27 credit hours at ACC will be eligible for a renewal scholarship during their second year at the College. Called the President’s Success Scholarship, it has been increased to $1,800 per student.

“Students awarded the scholarships may receive up to 80 percent of ACC tuition and fees for their first year,” said Recruiting Specialist Emily Dovi. Students must have recently graduated from a Colorado high school and must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher. To apply for the scholarship, students submitted an application for admission to ACC and attached a copy of their high school transcript.
